How to Care for Wigs, Hair Pieces & Hair Extensions

  1. Plait your hair into 2- 4 plaits, all going to the back, then pin the ends back on the plaits (the side)
  2. Optional: Tweeze out the hairline a little to give a more natural hairline look.
  3. Trim the excess lace around the hairline. Be careful not to cut into the hairline but also make sure there is no excess lace out.
  4. Take an eyeshadow brush or a foundation brush and dab your foundation or concealer on the lace (the inside). This will give it a natural flawless scalp-look.
  5. Blow dry the lace to dry out the foundation/concealer
  6. YOU’RE READY TO GO!
  7. After wearing your wig or ponytail, never leave it out hanging on the floor or on a table. Hang it back on the CI Beauty hanger provided for you and hang onto a section of your wardrobe.

Washing:

  • Wash your wig after every 10-15 uses.
  • Create a lather with lukewarm water and shampoo, turn the net inside out, soak your wig in the water and let it sit in for for 10minutes. Give it a gentle rub (avoid scrubbing). Rinse off the shampoo and apply a conditioner. Let the conditioner stay in for 2-3 minutes (avoid combing or brushing), rinse and pat off the excess water with a towel. Then let your wig ‘Air dry’. You can leave the hair on a wig stand or hung on the CI Beauty hanger whilst it air dries.
  • Do not use a hairdryer to dry it.
  • For curly or wavy wigs, the curls will retain its shape even after the hair is dried.
  • Do not brush your curly hair whilst it is wet, only use your fingers to work out the curls after the hair is dried.
  • To reduce the number of washes and to prolong the life span of your wig, we recommend you wear a wig cap under your wig (also included in your wig).
  • Only brush your wig thoroughly when it is completely dried.

Styling:

  • Do not use any hair gel or hair spray directly on the hair, you can however apply ‘got 2 be’ hairspray on your lace frontal to help keep it down on your hairline.
  • You can apply heat (curling irons or straighteners) up to 150 degrees but we suggest you don’t as all the wigs already come pre-styled. We recommend you build your hair wardrobe with different hair textures, colours and lengths
